Wilbur "Bill" Stearns

Wilbur A. “Bill” Stearns, age 90 of Sheridan passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 in Carson City. He was born on November 28, 1923 in Sheridan, the son of Frank & Emma (Greenhoe) Stearns.
On October 7, 1942, Bill was married to the former Lois Erridge. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2002. Also preceding him were two sons, Jerry & Ron Stearns, one son-in-law, Gary Ross, one sister and her husband, Ruby & Wilmer Morris and two brothers, Don Stearns and Arnold & Betty Stearns.
Surviving are three daughters, Judy Ross of Greenville, Bonnie & Ed Moffett of Fenwick, Cheryl & Raymond Brecht of Lakeview, 24 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, 31 great great grandchildren, two brothers, Lloyd & Maxine Stearns of Greenville, Barry & Nancy Stearns of Lansing and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Stearns of Sheridan.
Bill has been a longtime resident of Sheridan. He formerly owned a roller rink in Midland as well as owning and operating milk and gravel trucks.
Funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 10:00 AM; one hour prior to the funeral service where the family will meet with friends and relatives.
For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial considerations can be made to the White Pine Library. There will be envelopes available at the funeral home.
