Wendell B. Brand, age 81, of Holly, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Regency at Grand Blanc.
Wendell loved to be outdoors, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a lifetime member of Pheasants Forever. Wendell was a big sports fan, always cheering for the Tigers. His blood always ran orange as he loved his Allis-Chalmers tractors and had restored several of them. He was a talented carpenter and enjoyed building things. Wendell worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections from 1967 to 2000 and was a Training Officer there. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Surviving Wendell are his sons, Jim (Nikki) Brand of Swartz Creek, Scott (Andi) Brand of Gowen, Mark (Heidi) Brand of Greenville; the mother of his children, Fay Brand of Sheridan; grandchildren, Jenica (Kaleb) Gotwalt of Las Vegas, Nevada, Megan Brand of Las Vegas, Kylee Brand of Greenville, Eric Brand of Gowen; great grandson, Nolan Gotwalt; sister, Kristen Feuerstein of Ville Park, Illinois; brother, Jon (Carol) Brand of Sheridan; and his companion, Shirley Cook of Holly.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, William & Geraldine (Stearns) Brand; and daughter, Stacey Brand.
Wendell's life is being celebrated on Saturday, November 19th at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.). Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM with a memorial service at 11 AM.
Final inurnment will be at Evergreen Township Cemetery.
