Wayne E. Cranmer, Jr., age 65, of Gowen, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 22, 2021, under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Hospice.
Wayne loved being outdoors and spending time with his grandkids. He liked to go golfing, camping, watching fireworks, and tending to his vegetable garden. Wayne loved to go fishing, but especially enjoyed teaching his grandkids how to fish. He was a diehard Detroit Tigers and Lions fan, but also a sports fanatic in general who would watch any sporting event that was on TV.
Wayne is survived by his parents, Wayne and Donna (Morris) Cranmer of Belding; wife, Christine Hopkins-Cranmer of Gowen; sons, Tyler Cranmer and Jacob Cranmer, both of Gowen; grandchildren, Allyah Cranmer of Grand Rapids; Leeanna Cranmer of Hasting; Miguel Cranmer of Carson City; Blake Cranmer of Greenville; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and lots of great friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Cranmer; father-in-law, Floyd Hopkins; and brother-in-law, Philip Hopkins.
Wayne’s life is being celebrated on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.). Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 1 PM, with a Memorial Service beginning at 1 PM. Final inurnment will be at Clear Lake Cemetery.
