Obituary for
Wayne Adams
Wayne Adams, age 82 of Sheridan passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 5, 2018, under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Hospice.
He was born the son of Loren & Leota (Greenhoe) Adams and they along with his sister, Bernice Powers and his brother, Donald Adams have preceded him in death.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn Adams; daughter, Denise (John L.) Adams of Stanton; sons, Darwin (Ranee) Adams of Sheridan; Doug (Kicia) Adams of Sheridan; grandchildren, Corie (Bob) DeLamater of Sidney; Travis Adams of Stanton; Christina Adams of Riverdale; Julie (Cody) Wheat of Charlevoix; Amanda (Tim) Dolson of Greenville; Andy (Vina) Adams of Lakeview; Ashley (Shawn) Dyer of Sheridan; Douglas Adams of Lansing; Reed Carpenter of Sheridan; Danielle Carpenter of Sheridan; great grandchildren, Cole and Reed DeLamater both of Sidney; Daymian and McKenzie Schuttee both of Riverdale; Garett and Grace Adams and Ruby Anger all of Lakeview; Abbey and Allie Dyer both of Sheridan; sister, Betty (Earl) Cross of North Port, Florida; brother, Buz Adams of Greenville and sister-in-law, Muriel Adams of Turk Lake.
Wayne was a great family man who loved his family very much. He was an avid golfer and really looked forward each week to his round of golf with his cousin Larry Lear. Wayne was very blessed when it came to doing things with his hands. He was a talented woodworker and also enjoyed restoring old cars, such as his 1929 Model A and 1945 Ford pickup. He liked to be outside, including hunting, fishing, and camping. He also had a green thumb and really enjoyed seeing how tall he could grow his tomato plants. Wayne was also a big sports fan who liked cheering for the Tigers, Lions and Michigan Wolverines.
Wayne’s family would like to invite everyone to a visitation on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan from 2-5 PM.
A funeral service celebrating Wayne’s life will begin at 11 AM on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Jim Vandewarker officiating. Private family graveside services will be held at Evergreen Township Cemetery.
For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Wayne’s memory, the family suggests you direct them to either, Evergreen Free Methodist Church or Spectrum Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
