Stephen Clinton Scott

Stephen Scott, age 72, of Sheridan, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at his home.

Steve was a guy who was always giving back and caring for others. He was a Registered Nurse and worked for 40+ years at Sheridan Hospital, he was the former Mayor of Sheridan, a Sheridan Village Council Trustee member and a member of the Sheridan Lions Club. Steve will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

Surviving Steve is his wife of 53 years, Cathy; daughters, Jennifer (Rob) Train of Sheridan, Shannon (Brennan) Bowen of Sheridan, Stephanie (James Barnthouse) Scott of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, McKenna Bowen, Riley Bowen, Drew Train (Tyler Giles), Aiden Train, Morgan Train, and Josephine Barnthouse; great grandson, Owen Giles; sister, Barbara (Greg) Millard of Six Lakes; brothers, Kenneth (Carol) Scott of Hudsonville, Randall (Beth) Scott of Stanton; sister-in-law, Linda (Peter) Young of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton & Barbara (Mertz) Scott; grandson, Jacob Bowen; brother, Gordon Scott, and sister-in-law, Joann Scott.

A celebration of Steve' s life is being held on Sunday, November 13th from 4 to 7 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.). Please feel free to come and go as your schedule allows.
