Delbert Earnest Mulholland

Delbert "Sonny" Mulholland, 79, of Greenville, Michigan, was released from his pain February 18, 2023, at home after a months long battle with multiple complications from Diabetes. He was born in Charlotte, MI to Delbert and Grace (Gonser) Mulholland on September 26, 1943. He grew up in Potterville along with his sister Sherry. He attended Potterville High school (class of 61).

While engaging in that classic americana pastime - cruising in Lansing - he met Susan Kester. Their friendship moved to dating, and then they married on June 26, 1965 and were still together until his passing 58 years later. He worked as a shoe salesman, and then in a glass factory, before moving on to being a traveling repairman and manager for Pitney Bowes. While his job kept him on the road most days, it also meant that every town in Michigan he and his family visited had a high likelihood of having someone he knew for them to run into.

He was a caring father who instilled in his children a lifelong understanding of the importance of hard work, intellectual curiosity, and the joy of the daily things of life. He, along with Susan, always made sure that the love of family was well shown, taking the time to frequently visit their children and grandchildren over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sherry Petersen. Remembering him still here are his wife Susan, children Tracy (Todd) Dygert of Humble TX, Todd (Anna) Mulholland of Fort Wayne IN; and grandchildren Sarina and Richard Dygert, and Delbert Benjamin & Xander Mulholland. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St.) from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 25, 2023, beginning at 11 AM. Final interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Stanton.
