Shirley J O'Neill

Shirley J. O’Neill, age 86 of Greenville passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

She was born the daughter of William & Mable (Nessel) Myers on April 19, 1930 in Detroit and they along with her husband, Robert O’Neill; sister, Marie Garland; brother, Richard Myers and nephew, Bob Garland have preceded her in death.

Surviving Shirley is her sister, Elenore Tester of Stanton; brother, Bruce (Paul) Lea-Myers of Westland and longtime friend, Joyce DeVoll of Allen Park.

Shirley was an active volunteer for many years at the Murray Stuart American Legion Post 566 in Glenolden, Pennsylvania. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling. She like her entire family are big Detroit Tigers fans and she will be missed by everyone who knew her.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit at a later date and for those wishing to make a memorial donation in Shirley’s memory the family asks you do so to the charity of your choice.
