Shirley J. Lynn, age 88 of Sheridan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Laurels of Carson City.
Known as “Ma” or “Grandma Shirley” to most everyone, Shirley was a person who just made you smile. As a longtime bartender at Jim’s Bar and The Hogs Head Saloon, she made friends with many people throughout the years and those friendships meant a lot to her. Probably Shirley’s biggest pride and joy in life was her family. For years, Shirley was a mainstay at the local race tracks where she could be found each and every weekend cheering for her kids and grandkids as they raced. She loved NASCAR, the Detroit Tigers, and in her younger days she also was an avid bowler and won several trophies hill climbing on her motorcycle. Shirley will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her, but she will never be forgotten.
Shirley’s family would like to give a big thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Laurels for the tender and loving care they provided to her.
Surviving Shirley is her son, Bob Lynn of Sheridan; grandchildren, Shirley (Will) Manner of Brooks, Kentucky; Bobby (Jessica) Lynn of Sheridan; Neca Lynn of Sheridan; Jason Lynn of Sheridan; Jill (Jason) Dickinson of Stanton; great grandchildren, Chris (Britt) Swan; Aaron Swan; Shawn (Rebecca) Soule; Alyssa Lynn; Abigail Lynn; Caila Coleman; Jenna Lynn; Jordan Lynn; Sam Manner; Mavrick Dickinson and Miken Dickinson; great great grandchildren, Onyx; Jaxson and Gage; many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as long time family friend, Steven Hansen of Crystal.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, William & Nellie (Staines) Soule; husband, Robert Lynn; son, Bill Lynn; five sisters, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Orson & Claudia Lynn.
