Shelbi Sanborn

Shelbi Amber Sanborn, infant daughter of Samual Sanborn and Erlita Schneider, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.

She was born March 24, 2018 and it was very well-known Shelbi had a crush on Ryan and when he would work with her she would reach for his hands. When Daddy & Mommy were with her they would give her hand a little squeeze to let her know it was them. They loved her very much. A few times when Shelbi was being stubborn and fussy, Samual and Erlita would tell her that Ryan was coming and she always settled right down. Anytime she heard Mommy or Daddy’s voice, her vital stats would always pick up. Shelbi was a fighter and very stubborn, just like her dad. Her big brother, Jaden loved his sister very much and will miss the opportunity to hold her hand. While her time on earth was short Shelbi has left a permanent impression on everyone who knew her.

Surviving Shelbi is her mother, Erlita Schneider and father, Samual Sanborn both of Ionia; Grandpa, Robert Sanborn of Ionia; brother, Jaden Sanborn of Ionia; uncles, Jonah Sanborn of Ionia; Ramey Sanborn of Ypsilanti; aunt and uncle, Cassie & Mike Peterson of Ionia; cousins, Catey Sanborn of Ionia and Fiona Peterson of Ionia and family friend Ryan.

Shelbi is preceded in death by her grandmother, Allison Lee Sanborn.

A memorial service celebrating Shelbi’s life is being held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 beginning at 4 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.
