Sharon Kay Eldridge, 70, of Stanton passed away in her home on January 4th surrounded by her loving family after a long, courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and most recently lung cancer.
She was born September 20, 1949, the daughter of Kenneth and Irene (Hacker) Nelson.
Sharon was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #5065 and retired from Hitachi Magnetics after 30 years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, going to car shows, and estate sales. Sharon loved cooking for her family. She had the most beautiful flowers and enjoyed working in them. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her 5 grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Nelson, her sister Linda (Nelson) Harvey, brother-in-law Rick Harvey, niece, Michelle Harvey, stepfather Russell Christofferensen, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russel & Phyllis Eldridge.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dennis Eldridge, son Denny Eldridge (Missy) of Stanton, daughter Denise Shaw (Eric) of Greenville, and mother Irene Christoffersen of Sheridan. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and they will remember her always. She loved spending time with them. They are Rory, London, Celina Eldridge, all of Stanton and Mitchell and Kelsie Shaw, both of Greenville. Sharon is also survived by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sharon & Earl Blaisdell of Stanton, Kenneth & Penny Eldridge of Edmore, Mary Ann & Kathy Eldridge of Montague, Carol & Russ McLean of Stanton, Jan & John Cranmer of Montague and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.). Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Sharon will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery.
