Ruth White (Haughey)

Ruth White, age 80, of Fenwick, passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.

Ruth loved helping and taking care of people, something she did as a nurse's aide, mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also enjoyed cooking, knitting, traveling, camping, and visiting with her friends. However, most of all, Ruth loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving Ruth are her daughters, Patty (Jeff) VanderSloot of Gowen, Norma Jean Baker of Greenville, Lori (Dallas) Collins of Fenwick, and Carrie Campbell of Greenville; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Simpson of Arizona; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Shoen of Florida and Leo White of Arkansas.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, William & Beatrice (Baldwin) Haughey; husband, Norman White; son, John White; four sisters; two brothers; and her parents-in-law.

Ruth’s life is being celebrated on Monday, January 10th at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.). Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM. A memorial service will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Martin Ross officiating.
