Russ Sorensen

Russell Dean Sorensen, age 47 of Fenwick, passed away unexpectedly at work on Sunday, July 29, 2018.

Russ was a family man through and through. He loved his kids, his family and enjoyed spending time and doing things with them. Russ also loved hunting and his tractors. Russ also loved doing things and spending time with his dad, Jerry. He had a soft spot for animals and was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back.

Russ was preceded in death by his grandpa Harry, who he was especially close to as well as his other grandparents; his father-in-law, Ken Jeffers and his aunt Donna Albaugh.

Surviving Russ is his father and best friend, Jerry (Pat) Sorensen of Fenwick; mother, Elaine (Mike) Gurry of Beverly Hills, Florida; his loving wife, Kenna Sorensen; daughters, Mariah Sorensen of Fenwick; McKenzie Sorensen (Dulton Cowlings & Nevaeh) of Fenwick; sons, Russell Sorensen II of Fenwick; Theodore Sorensen of Fenwick; sisters, Val Sorensen of Lakeview; Dana (Todd) Meyers of Gaines, Michigan; Lainy (Juan) Orta of Memphis, Tennessee; brothers, Jerry Jr. (Maxine) Sorensen of Sumner; Vance (Laura) Sorensen of Fenwick; stepbrothers, Jack (Vilma) Dipiazza of Grand Rapids; Randy (Jodie) Dipiazza of Cedar Springs; mother-in-law, Doris Jeffers of Sheridan; Aunts & Uncles Betty & Bob Jones of Evansville, Indiana; Shirley & Robert Nelson of Homosassa, Florida; sister-in-law, Priscilla Jeffers of Crystal; brother-in-law, Jamey (Lory Shepardson) Jeffers of Sheridan and many nieces, nephews and cousins who he loved very much.

Visitation with Russ’s family is being held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 4-7 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.

Funeral services celebrating Russ’s life will be on Friday, August 3, 2018 beginning at 11 AM at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Private family graveside services will be at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Fenwick.
