Russell A. Sharkey, age 69 of St. Johns, passed away in Lansing at Sparrow Hospital on Thursday, July 09, 2020.
Russell proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He enjoyed going to dirt track races, playing pool, and spending time with his family. He also loved animals, watching the game show network, and playing horseshoes.
Russell is survived by his son, Keith Sharkey; sisters, Arlene (Dick) Evans of Florida; Debbie (Steve) Conningham of Wilcox, Arizona; Bonnie Vaughn of Gowen; Deva Sharkey of Sheridan; Renee Sharkey of Sheridan; brother, Galen (Evie) Sharkey of Greenville; his cousin and caregiver, Ronnie Cross of St. Johns; good friend, Jimmy Ruthruff of Six Lakes; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Howard & Edna Sharkey; sister, Vicky Sharkey and brother-in-law, Danny Vaughn.
Graveside services for Russell will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 beginning at 1 PM at Evergreen Township Cemetery.
