Ronald Taylor

July 23, 1947 — September 10, 2020

Ronald L. Taylor, age 73, of Stanton, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.

Ron proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during Vietnam and was a member of the Sheridan VFW Post 5065. He loved watching the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and U of M football. Ron liked fishing at Dickerson Lake, he loved teaching his kids and grandkids how to fish and enjoyed fishing with anyone who would go with him. Ron also enjoyed wood working. He retired from Federal Mogul in 2003 after 35 years of service. Ron will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Surviving Ron are his daughters, Angie Taylor of Caledonia; Amy Penner of Greenville; Julie Langdon of Greenville; stepdaughter, Jelane (David) Joachi of Rockford; stepson, Bill (Penny) Neese of Stanton; grandchildren, Seth; Gabe; Alex; Bailey; Megan and Kyle; sister, Kathy (Chuck) Hall of Beal City; special friend, Barb Creighton of Greenville and wonderful neighbors, Larry & Betty Bennett and Mike Devlin both of Dickerson Lake.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Leon & Reva (Nostrant) Taylor; wife, Eloise; 2 brothers; a sister; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law; and a nephew.

Visitation for Ron is being held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, from 1 to 7 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main Street). Due to the numerous Executive Orders issued by Governor Whitmer, a maximum of 10 people will be allowed in the funeral home at any one time and your patience and understanding is appreciated.

A funeral ceremony celebrating Ron’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Shiloh Community Church (8197 Heth Street, Orleans) beginning at 11 AM with Pastor Harger officiating. Ron’s family will be greeting family and friends at the church on Wednesday, before the funeral from 10 to 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers the family asks you make a donation in Ron’s name to the Seiter Educational Center in Greenville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
