Roland "Ron" Sinclair
Roland (Ron) Sinclair, age 87 of Sheridan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at his winter home in Zephyrhills, Florida.
He was born the son of Milton & Frances (Thomas) Sinclair outside of Sheridan on July 26, 1930. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruth; son, Philip Sinclair, Sr.; great grandson, Riley Sinclair; sister-in-law, Jean Galloway and brother-in-law, Marion Galloway.
Born and raised in Sheridan, a fact Ron was very proud of, he was a life long farmer and lived only a mile from the house he was born in. If he wasn’t in the fields working, Ron could be found in his garden which gave him great pleasure and joy. He was also an electrician and retired from GenCorp in Ionia. Ron and Ruth enjoyed spending their winters in Florida which they did for the past 25 years.
Surviving Ron are his daughters, Phyllis Sinclair of Belton, South Carolina who for the past several years has taken care of both Ruth and Ron; Susan (Mark) Kenyon of Ionia; Deb (Jeff) Sandborn of Sheridan; sons, Larry (Pam) Sinclair of Fenwick; Dan (Wendy) Sinclair of Sidney; Kevin (Angela) Sinclair of Moore, Oklahoma; brother, Clinton (Jean) Sinclair of Sheridan; twenty-seven grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Ron’s family would like to invite everyone to join them for a visitation at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan on Sunday, April 29, 2018, from 2-5 PM and at the Shiloh Community Church on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 10 to 11 AM.
Ron’s life will be celebrated at a funeral service beginning at 11 AM on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Final interment will be next to his wife Ruth at the Sheridan Cemetery.
For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Ron’s memory the family has suggested they go to Hospice. Envelopes will be available at both the funeral home and church.
