Roger Sowles

Roger J. Sowles, age 73 of Stanton, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

He was born the son of Robert & Celia (Beebe) Sowles in Sidney Township on January 23, 1944 and they along with his wife Laura, many aunts and uncles and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law have preceded him in death.

Roger is survived by his daughters, Jackie Everingham of Stanton, Ruth (Jack) Williams of Stanton; sons, Scott Sowles of Augusta, Marty (Becky) Sowles of Stanton; grandchildren, Melissa (Lee) Larson of Kalamazoo, Mitch (Meagan) Sowles of Trufant, Brandi (John) Harton of Belding, Jeremy (Nikki) Hallock of Belding, Cody Everingham of Ionia, Lori (Joseph) Burgtorf of Sumner, Robert (Trish) Sowles of Greenville, Tyler Sowles of Stanton, Logan Sowles of Stanton, Jenika Sowles of Stanton; great grandchildren, Matthew, Anna, Skyler, Lauren, Brookelynn, Payton, Baylee, Hunter, Ian, Jaylin and special friend, JoAnn Bupp of Stanton.

Roger was a fixture at the local dirt tracks throughout the area driving the #66 car for many years and also helping to work on cars for family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and testing his luck at the casino. Roger will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Roger’s life is being held on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 4-7 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan and you are free to come and go as your schedule allows.

Final inurnment will be next to his wife Laura in the McBride Cemetery.
