Robert L. Northrup, age 65 of Monroe, Georgia, formerly of Sheridan, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the N.E. Georgia Center in Gainesville, Georgia.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman who especially liked fishing, hunting, camping, baseball, swimming, golfing, and cycling. But of all his hobbies and things he liked to do, spending time, playing and making his kids and grandkids laugh was his absolute favorite thing.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Robert II (Lori) Northrup of Gainesville, Georgia and Kevin (Tiffany) Northrup of Monroe, Georgia; grandchildren, Tia Northrup; Robby Northrup and Amber Northrup all of Gainesville, Georgia; Annabelle Northrup of Big Rapids; Brekken Northrup and Nash Northrup both of Monroe, Georgia; great grandchildren, Raelynn Northrup, Caroline Vandepol and Adalynn Broome; sisters, Laurie (Mando) Ledesma of Grand Rapids; Elizabeth (Jeff) Hurwitz of Ann Arbor; brothers, Cal (Karen) Northrup of Fayetteville, Tennessee; Richard (Gladis) Rood of Greenville and Dan (Kim) Rood of Walled Lake.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Cal Northrup, Sr. and his mother, Gertrude Rice.
A memorial service celebrating Bob’s life is being held on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.) beginning at 11 AM with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating.
