Robert MacDonald Sr.

October 20, 1947 — December 13, 2020

Robert L. MacDonald, Sr., age 73, of Sheridan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 13, 2020, passing away at Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville.

First and foremost, Bob loved Jesus and as an ordained minister he loved to share that love with people. After Jesus, there was no questions what Bob loved the most, which was his family, especially his wife of 53 years, Sandy, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Bob also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, shooting his guns, and taking a ride on the pontoon. It has been said sometimes the best adventures in life are taken down the road less traveled which is something Bob and Sandy put into practice as they absolutely loved going for trips down backroads they had never been on just to see where it would lead them. Bob would also keep himself busy working on his hobby farm and pretty much built everything he needed for it by hand. He proudly served his country during Vietnam as a member of the United States Army and was a member of the Sheridan Assembly of God Church.

Surviving Bob is his wife, Sandy; sons, Rob Jr. (Lori) MacDonald of Stanton; Jeff (Kelly) MacDonald of Gowen; Matt MacDonald of Stanton; grandchildren, Jon (Randi) MacDonald of Stanton; Zack (Kirsten) MacDonald of Stanton; Ryan MacDonald of Gowen; Jillian MacDonald of Gowen; Jacob Nickels of Stanton; Tyler (Calista) MacDonald of Stanton; Kaitlynn MacDonald of Belding; Kaden Silverthorne of Greenville; great grandchildren, Graysen; Emryn; Jonni Ann; Charli Jo; Franki Alynn; and one soon to be born great grandchild; brothers, Pat (Lynn) MacDonald of Rockford; Mike (Patti) MacDonald of Greenville; Rod (Liz) MacDonald of Newaygo; Brian (Laurie) MacDonald of Gowen; Greg (Cheryl) MacDonald of Cedar Springs; sisters, Sherry (Dan) Darling of Gowen; Pam MacDonald of Belding; Diane (Roger) Andres of Belding; many nieces and nephews; lots of great friends; and his beloved Highland Cows, “Wallace” and “Moira”.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Donna (Vanthoff) MacDonald; an infant son; two grandchildren, Daniel MacDonald and Baby MacDonald; and his little brother, Steven.

Visitation for Bob is being held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 4 to 7 PM at the Sheridan Assembly of God Church (4010 S. Sheridan Road) and one hour prior to the funeral.
