Obituary for
Robert Guziak

Robert L. Guziak, age 89 of Stanton passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at his home. He was born on July 26, 1925 in VanDyke, Michigan, the son of James & Margaret (Moeller) Guziak.
On December 16, 1950, Robert was married to Betty A. McKeage and she survives in addition to one daughter and son in law, Sue & Terry Christensen of Greenville, 2 grandchildren, Heather & Tony Kuiper and Kristina & Ryan Snyder, 5 great grandchildren, Evan, Katelyn, Jacob, Colton and Jase, 2 sisters, Ruth & Gil Kimsel of Saginaw, Betty & Newbern Allen of Tennessee, 3 sisters in law, Gerri Guziak, Rita Guziak and Jeannie McKeage and 1 brother in law, Max Rusher.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a son, William Robert Guziak, 2 brothers, Norm and James Guziak in addition to other extended family members.
Formerly of Brant, Robert officially moved to Derby Lake in 1989 where he had owned his first cottage since 1972. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a life member of Merrill Hemlock VFW Post 7302. His wife Betty of 63 ½ years was the love of his life, but he also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM will be held on Saturday, September 6th at the First Congregational Church in Stanton with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating. Interment will be at the Brant Cemetery in Brant, Michigan.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan where the family will meet with friends and relatives.
For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial considerations can be made to either the First Congregational Church of Stanton or the American Heart Association. There will be envelopes available at both the funeral home and the church.
