Robert "Bobby" Groom

Robert “Bobby” Groom, age 40, of Sault Ste. Marie, formerly of Fenwick, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022.

Bobby was always looking to help others. He did that first by serving 7 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and then as a Registered Nurse. Bobby enjoyed living in the Upper Peninsula and loved documenting all his adventures and excursions on his YouTube Channel: “Capp and Coastie Adventures”. Bobby will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

Surviving Bobby are his parents, Dan & Mary Groom of Ionia; daughter, Aubryana Wedge of Greenville; brother, Nick Groom (Jen Miller) of Sparta; several aunts and uncles; many cousins; and his beloved dog and best buddy, Capp.

Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bird & Iris Groom and Lynn & Esther Rogers; and his uncle Bruce Groom.

A celebration of Bobby’s life is being held on Tuesday, June 21st from 5 - 8 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.). Please feel free to come and go as your schedule allows.

For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Bobby’s memory the family suggests you direct them to the American Red Cross in Bobby’s name. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
