Robert G. Allen, age 72, of Rockford, entered his eternal home in Heaven on Saturday, May 22, 2021, passing away at his home under the loving care of his family and Kindred Hospice.
Bob was a man who loved Jesus and was not afraid to share that love with people, witnessing to them about what an awesome God he served. Bob was active in many churches throughout his life, including the Nazarene Church in Clare, the First Baptist Church of Palmetto, Florida, and most recently the Greenville Community Church. He also enjoyed going fishing, hunting, hiking, taking trips on his motorcycle, and reading. Bob also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Surviving Bob is his wife, Sharon Allen; mom, Emma Allen of Clare; daughter, Shelly Jo (James) Kindy of Midland; daughter-in-law, Melanie Allen of Traverse City, formally of Lakewood, Colorado; grandkids, Aiden Allen of Traverse City; Chelsea (David) Shuckerow of Greenville; Caitlyn (J) Patrick of Lyons; Isaac (Amber) Kindy of Midland; Chloe (Cody) McNulty of Lincoln, Nebraska; Josiah Kindy of Midland; great grandchildren, Keaton; Eliot; Gauge; April; Grayson; sisters, Arlene (Roger) Garver of Clare; Sandra Geyer of Clare; brother, Martin Allen of Clare; nieces, Diana Garver of St. Charles; Amy Heath of Clare; Amy Garver of Clare; nephews, Travis Allen of Clare; Dale Walters of Harrison; special aunt, Georgia Shepherd of Clare; and his brother-in-law and special friend, Richard Jones of Greenville.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Max Allen; son, Robert Shawn Allen; nephews, Treaver Allen and Dannie Garver.
Bob’s life is being celebrated on Friday, May 28th at the Greenville Community Church (6596 Vining Road, Greenville). Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 Noon with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 1:30 PM with Pastor Bryan Savage officiating.
