Obituary for
Richard King
2/22/1948 – 5/31/2013
Richard DuWayne King, age 65 of Sheridan passed away on Friday, May 31st in Grand Rapids. He was born on February 22, 1948 in Greenville, the son of Richard W. & Dorothy M. (Blumberg) King. Both of his parents have preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Diana & Steve Eckert of Six Lakes, Debra & Bret Barnes of Sheridan, two brothers, Phillip Daniel King of Grand Rapids and Darrell & Nancy King of Sheridan in addition to his nieces and nephews, Atlanta Dick, Keith Eckert, Jeremy Eckert, Cary Stewart, Kris King, Debra A. Barnes, Lewis Barnes and Caleb Barnes.
Richard DuWayne has been a lifelong resident of the Sheridan area; he was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, a member of the VFW Post 5065 of Sheridan and retired from Electrolux in Greenville.
Funeral services are being held today (Monday) beginning at 11:00 AM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Kurt Hoffman officiating. Interment is in the Evergreen Cemetery, Sheridan.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM where the family will meet with friends and relatives.
