Rex A. Mathewson, age 67, of Sheridan, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, December 3, 2011. He was born March 3, 1944 in Belding, the son of Royal G. & Edith (Saubert) Mathewson. Both parents have preceded him in death.
On January 27, 1972, Rex was married to the former Marsha D. Munson and she passed away on January 9, 2008.
Surviving are his two children, Marsha D. Mathewson of Alabama and Rex D. & Kandi Mathewson of Sheridan plus one grandson, Rex H. Mathewson, three sisters, Marjorie & Jim Stockton of Belding, Dorothy & Louis Mrozicha of Belding, Virginia & Bob Smalley of Fenwick and three brothers, Virgil Mathewson of Belding, Cecil & LaVerna Mathewson of Belding and Leo Mathewson of Belding.
Rex has been a longtime resident of the Sheridan area and was retired from the former Electrolux plant in Greenville.
In keeping with Rex’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will not be any visitation or funeral services held.

Sorry to hear about Rex(bat) as we called him when we were kids. Rex was my brother Warren Lane’s best friend until he was killed in Vietnam in 1968. Remember the family well as we all lived in the same neighborhood. You are in my prayers.
