Raymond E. Hansen, age 85, of McBride, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, under the loving care of his family and Elara Hospice.
Ray was born the son of Frank & Cynthia Hansen on July 4, 1935. On October 27, 1956, Ray married Harriett Sigsby at the Day Bethel Church. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1956 – 1957. He retired as a Foreman from Hitachi in 1991 after working there for 26 years. He was a member of the Old Iron Tractor Club and loved his antique tractors. Ray also liked camping, wood carving, and visiting with people. For 25 years, he and Harriett enjoyed going to Florida in the winter and made many friends down there. However, above everything else, Ray loved being a dad, grandpa, and great grandpa and spending time with his family.
Surviving Ray is his wife of 63 years, Harriett; their children, Randy (Kim) Hansen of Vestaburg; Ralynn Hansen of Greenville; Peggy (Gary) Holland of Stanton; Doug (Beth) Hansen of Six Lakes; grandchildren, Jennifer (Marc) Wilson; Tim (Shanna) Holland; Cyndi (Jeremy) Grimm; Brian Hansen; Heather (Matt) Dempsey; Greg (Kimberly) Hansen; Amber (James) Bratcher; Rebecca Hansen; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Leona Moll of Belding; brothers, Russell Hansen of McBride; Laverne (Joyce) Hansen of Edmore; Harvey (Darlene) Hansen of Alma; Norman (Sandy) Hansen of McBride; David Hansen of Edmore; Allen (Roxanne) Hansen of Sheridan; many nieces and nephews and lots of great friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Craig Hansen and Rick Hansen; and 2 sisters, Frances Augustine and Vergeline Red.
Visitation and funeral services for Ray are being held at his home (3930 E. McBride Road, Edmore) on Saturday, September 5, 2020. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM with Pastor Elwyn MacDonald officiating. A graveside services and Military Rites will be held at McBride Cemetery starting at 2:30 PM.
