Ramon Pena

Ramon A. Pena, age 74, formerly of Sidney, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Lansing. He was born on January 4, 1940 in Brownsville, Texas, the son of Rafael & Nicolasa (Arizmendez) Pena.
On June 21, 1974, Ramon was married to Patricia Lanning and she preceded him in death on May 21, 2009. Also preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Thomas Pena, a sister, Emma Centeno and a brother, Rafael Pena.
Surviving are his children, Guadalupe (John) Raap of Grand Rapids, Beatrice Pena of Grand Rapids, Raymond Pena of Wyoming, Michael (Janet) Pena of Wyoming, Ramon Pena (Rosemary Kennedy) of Lansing, Cathy Lanning of Stanton, Christina (Monty) King of Riverdale, Lucio (Raquel) Pena of Lansing, beloved grandson, Tomas Pena, 30 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren one brother, Frank (Linda) Pena of Bay City, two sisters, Beatrice Vidal of Lansing, Irene Sanchez of St. Louis, one sister in law, Susie Pena of Stanton and several nieces and nephews.
Ramon was a longtime resident of the Sidney area and retired from Electrolux in 2005 after 21 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, but especially loved to spend time with his family.
Funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan. Interment will be at the Sidney Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 10 AM, one hour prior to the funeral service.
