Obituary for Phyllis I Stearns (Phyllis I. Morris)

Phyllis I. Stearns, age 88, of Sheridan passed away at her home on Friday, May 15, 2015 with her family by her side.
Phyllis was born the daughter Wilmer & Grace (Baker) Morris on January 15, 1927 in Fenwick.
She has been proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Stearns; one son, Richard Stearns; four sisters, Esther Wilson, Elsie Reed, Gladys Blumenstein, Laura Parks and eight brothers, Earle, Homer, Orval, Claire, Hartley, Wilmer C., Fred & Wayne Morris.
Phyllis is survived by one son, Roy & Andrea Stearns of Gowen; two daughters, Tarry Everingham of Sheridan and Shirley Stevenson of Sheridan; three sisters, Caroline Sage of Sheridan, Alice & Bob Childs of Belding, Inez Parks of Wacusta; one brother, Robert & Elizabeth Morris of Howard City; brothers and sisters in law, Barry & Nancy Stearns of Lansing, Lloyd Gayle & Maxine Stearns of Greenville, 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Phyllis was a lifelong resident of the Sheridan area where she attended the Shiloh Community Church and was a member of the VFW Post 5065 Ladies Auxiliary.
Visitation with Phyllis’s family will be on Sunday, May 17, 2015 from 4 PM – 7 PM, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.
Funeral services will be on Monday, May 18, 2015 beginning at 11 AM with Pastors Jamey Nichols & Joel Heron officiating. Final interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial donations be made to either Hospice of Michigan or the Sheridan VFW Food Pantry and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
