Paula Jane Lane, age 79, of Sheridan, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022, in Grand Rapids at Spectrum Health Butterworth.
Paula was very active in her younger years. She loved to go cross country skiing and riding snowmobiles. Paula was an avid reader, loved to color and draw at home. She also enjoyed watching the birds and had a strong passion for photography and animals, but Paula’s greatest love was her family. She was an amazing wife and an incredible mother. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Surviving Paula is her husband, Richard “Dick” Lane of Sheridan; son, Douglas “Allen” Russell (Dona McDaniel) of Stanton; sisters, Sherral (Dave) Hartman of Belding; Hazel (Dave) Turmo of Sheridan; a brother, Mark (Keitha) Peterman of Cedar Springs; Uncle Michael (Marga) Foote; Aunt Marilyn Fox and two sisters-in-law, Ann Schnaffner and Jane Stiriz.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Gernard & Mary Jane Peterman; two brothers, Lee Peterman and Bucky
Peterman.
A visitation to honor Paula’s life is being held on Tuesday, May 31st at Simpson Family Funeral Homes (246 S. Main St. Sheridan) from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Paula will be laid to rest at Sheridan Cemetery at a later date.
For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Paula’s memory, the family suggests you direct them to either the White Pine Library in Stanton or the Montcalm County Animal Shelter. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
