A lifelong resident of the Carson City-Hubbardston area, Mrs. Studley was a former mental health counselor, but more importantly was very interested in life and learning new things; she had been very active throughout much of her life in community theater including the Carson City Civic Players, as well as clogging on a dance team with her sister, Joan and her granddaughter, Rachel. She was a master gardener and a member of the Montcalm County Gardener Association. She gave generously of her time to provide flower gardens and landscaping for each of her children’s homes and did special gardening projects with and for her grandchildren.
A memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, cremation will take place and there will not be any visitation held.
For those desiring to do so, memorial considerations are suggested to either the Montcalm County Area Masters Gardeners or to the Heritage Village at MCC. There will be envelopes available at the funeral home.

I know Pat will be missed grately as a mother and grandmother. I only met her a few times, and in her later years. But I was so impressed with her energy. I almost became tired watching her. Thinking of all of you.

To Rona, Amy and Patrick: I am very sorry for your loss. Your mom and I were good friends in the ’60s and ’70s. I knew her as a creative and confident person who brightened and informed every group with which she was connected. She had a terrific sense of humor and a strong belief in herself, her family and her community. She tried new things. When she and Ron remodeled the house, Pat took on the job of general contractor. When anyone wanted to perform a play, Pat directed. When Ron put in a tennis court,Pat and I gamely learned the sport (though I think we were always as interested in what kind of weeds were growing under the Russian olive trees as much as we were with the tennis score. ) We took a wonderful trip to New York together, and Pat seemed as at home in Manhattan as she was in Carson City! As our lives grew apart, I’ve missed Pat. She was an amazing woman, and she always followed her own strong ethical sense. My wish is that you all celebrate your happy memories of your mom and that you live the lives she had hoped for you.
