Patricia M. Cook, age 87 of Stanton, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 10, 2014 at her home. She was born on February 18, 1927 in Stanton, the daughter of Michael & Edna (Stewart) Herald. Both parents have preceded her in death as well as her first husband, Samuel A. Cannon in 1992, her second husband, Jesse E. Cook on October 27, 1998, four siblings, infant sister, Missy, her sister Fern Brooks and two brothers, James & Clare Herald.
Surviving Pat is one daughter, Marian Hansen of Palm Beach Shores, Florida, one son and daughter in law, Larry & Linda Cannon of Stanton, one sister, Helen Hansen of Stanton, four grandchildren, Christian Hansen, Kally Hansen, Casey & Chris Johnson, Roxanne & Gary Teegardin, several step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.
Pat has been a lifelong resident of the Sheridan and Stanton areas. She formerly worked at Ionia Manufacturing in Ionia and eventually retired from Gibsons in Greenville. She was a member of the Stanton American Legion Post 452 and the Montcalm County Democrats.
Funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating. Interment will be at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Stanton.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM where the family will meet with friends and relatives.
For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial considerations can be made to the Stanton American Legion Post 452 Auxiliary. There will be envelopes available at the funeral home .
