Norman Brummeler

August 29, 1935 — May 10, 2021

Norman L. Brummeler, 85, of Clifford Lake, passed away at his home on Monday, May 10th, under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice.

Norm was a kind, loving, and humble man; a self-described “sinner who was saved by Grace.” Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Norm moved to Clifford Lake full time in 2003. To Norm, his family meant the world and he absolutely loved them all regardless if they were related by blood or an in-law. He was a salesman at heart with the gift of gab and an ability to make you feel welcomed and special, even if he just met you. Norm was talented in the kitchen and a great baker and cook; his cinnamon bread and Grandma B’s meatloaf were favorites. Norm loved the fellowship at Stanton First Congregational Church.

Norm is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Marva; their children; Beth & Richard Bolhuis of Hudsonville, Bob Brummeler of Rockford, Julie & Terry VanderBerg of Fortville, Indiana, Brad & Alicia Brummeler of Stony Brook, New York, Katie Kitchen of Clifford Lake; grandchildren, Rick & Carla Bolhuis, Bruce & Caitlyn Bolhuis, Mark & Amber Bolhuis, Alyssa & Brandon Wiseman, Kristyn VanderBerg, Jordyn & Paul Watkins, Jynelle VanderBerg, Courtney & Shawn Gordon, Adam Kitchen, Jake Brummeler, Luke Kitchen, Lauren Brummeler, Shannon & Carlson Chia Ngong, Anna Brummeler; great grandchildren, Madilyn, Carter, Bruce, Reese, Jude, Walt, Jack, Brooklyn Kay; and Jo Ellen Nickels, his sister-in-law.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents, John & Marie (Leeuwenburg) Brummeler, daughter-in-law, Wendy Brummeler, great grandson, William Robert Bolhuis, siblings, Erwin Brummeler, Faith Stryker, John Brummeler, and Auntie Faith Leeuwenburg.

Norm’s life will be celebrated and remembered on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Stanton First Congregational Church (305 N. Camburn St.). Visitation will be from 2 to 3 PM and a memorial service will begin at 3 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family asks you to direct memorial donations to Spectrum Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the church on Sunday.
