Norma Yaw

Norma L. Yaw, age 86 of Sheridan passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at her home. She was born on August 16, 1927 in Greenup County, Kentucky, the daughter of Eugene & Minnie (Hutchinson) Lybrook.
On December 21, 1942, Norma was married to Lewis A. Yaw and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Donald Lybrook and a great granddaughter, Kerri.
Surviving Norma are her children, Cheryl & Scott VanDrunen, Sheridan, Dennis & Bobby Jean Yaw, Lakeview, Larry & Karen Yaw, Sheridan, Donald & Shelly Yaw, Sheridan, 40 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
Norma has been a longtime resident of the Sheridan area. She has been a faithful member of the Evergreen Free Methodist Church of Sheridan and a life member of the VFW Post 5065 Ladies Auxiliary where she is the current president. Norma loved spending time with her family, but her passion in life seemed to be helping others in whatever way was possible. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services beginning at 11:00 A.M. will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Jim Vandewarker officiating. Interment will be at the Sheridan Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. where the family will meet with friends and relatives.
