Norma Gayle Bowen, age 86, of Alma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Masonic Pathways.
In 1952 Gayle married Robert L. Dryer in Ames, Iowa. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1953 shortly after their first daughter, Sharon, was born. The family grew quickly with the addition of Sallie, Sandra, and Mark. Gayle and Robert eventually divorced after many years together.
Gayle met Cleo “Bo” Bowen married in 1983. They lived in Mesa, Arizona and Alma, Michigan.
Surviving Gayle are her daughters, Sharon York of Prescott Valley, Arizona and Sallie Brantley of Norfolk, Virginia; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Dell Sontag of Claremore, Oklahoma.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Harold & Martha Maynard; daughter, Sandra Lynn Dryer; son, Mark Maynard Dryer; husband, Cleo Bowen; brother, Eugene Heiss and sister, Mary Hoenow.
Gayle’s family would like to thank all the staff at Masonic Pathways for the wonderful and loving care they provided to her during her years there.
In honoring Gayle’s wishes no services will be held.
