Ned Arvin Williams

Ned A. Williams, age 85 of Stanton, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids with his family by his side.

He was born the son of Ted & Mary (Holcomb) Williams in Stanton on May 22, 1930. Ned is preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry Lee Williams and two brothers and one sister.

Surviving Ned is his wife of 66 years, Avis (Petersen), whom he married on December 28, 1949 in Stanton as well as their daughter, Deb (Lewis) Corwin of Stanton; grandchildren, Kassie (Kevin) Norcross, Lewis (Nicole) Hayden, AJ (Britney) Hayden, Terry (Sarah) Williams, Robert Williams, Brian (Katrina) Corwin, Gena (Billy) McKeown; fourteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ned was a member of the Stanton American Legion, Moose Lodge in Greenville and Masonic Lodge in Shelbyville, Illinois. Ned was an avid golfer who enjoyed cookouts and doing various brain teaser puzzles, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Ned’s family would like to invite everyone to a celebration of Ned’s life on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 1-4 PM at the Moose Lodge in Greenville, 5649 S. Greenville Road, Greenville, MI 48838.

Memorial donations to Ned’s family can be sent to Avis Williams c/o Simpson Family Funeral Homes, Post Office Box 168, Sheridan, MI 48884 and there will be envelopes available at the Lodge on Saturday.
