Neal Stearns

Neal A. Stearns, age 93 of Palo passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in Carson City. He was born on June 3, 1921 in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Maurice & Ida (Andre) Stearns. Both parents have preceded him in death.
On January 4, 1940, Neal was married to Marjorie C. Tibbet and she preceded him in death on June 19, 2011. Surviving are his children, Carmen & Dan Lindquist of Palo, Michigan, Steve & Sandra Stearns of Hopkins, Michigan, David & Marlinda Stearns of Scio, Oregon, plus 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Neal has been a longtime resident of the Palo area. He held a masters degree in education and taught music for 10 years before a career change and became an insurance executive in the insurance business. As a US Navy veteran of World War II, Neal was a member of the VFW Post 5065 of Sheridan and also a member of the Palo United Methodist Church.
Funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Palo United Methodist Church with Pastor Larry Nalett officiating. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 10 AM; one hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment will be at the Palo Cemetery in Palo.
