Nancy C. Ogan (Smith)

Nancy C. Ogan, age 81 of Pentwater, formally of Lakeview passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 14, 2015.

She was born the daughter of William & Laura (Johnson) Smith in Huntington, West Virginia on February 15, 1934.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; son, Patrick; three sisters, Nell, Mildred, Mae and one brother, Jack.

Surviving Nancy are her children, Laura Leigh Fowler of Greenville, Beth (Don) VandenHeuvel of Lansing, Rose (James) Hickman of Greenville, Bill & Kate Ogan of Greenville, Cathy (Jeff) Ogan-Barker of Gaylord, Sue (Ric) Ogan-Hirt of Wyoming, Michigan, David (Deb) Ogan of Rockford, Randy (Jody) Yeakey of Wyoming, Michigan, Yvonne Sowa of Manistee, grandson/son, Jason Ogan of Pentwater; one sister, Joyce Lemley of Kentucky, one brother, Jim Smith of Montana, special nephew, Fred Chinn of Kentucky, twenty-six grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

A very creative person, Nancy was a talented artist who enjoyed working with ceramics, watercolors and drawing. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to garage sales and was always looking out and trying to get a good deal. She was a lifetime member of the Lakeview VFW Post 3701 and also a member of the Lakeview Hospital Guild.

Visitation with Nancy’s family will be on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 1-4 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.

Funeral services for Nancy will be on Monday, October 19, 2015 also at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan beginning at 11 AM. Graveside services will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery on Monday, beginning at 1 PM.
