Morton Chism

Morton E. Chism, age 90, of Sheridan passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at his home. He was born October 10, 1923 in Owosso, Michigan, the son of Clyde & Eva (Storey) Chism.
On April 3, 1948, Morton was married to the former Donna J. Sinclair and she survives in addition to their children, Frances & Joe Pelish of Stanton, Linda & Dave Ryan of Carson City, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Morton has been a longtime resident of the Sheridan area where he and Donna owned and operated Chism’s Woodshop for many years. He was retired from Frigidaire, was a US Army veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW Post 5065 of Sheridan as well as the Stanton American Legion Post 452.
A memorial service beginning at 10:00 AM will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Stanton American Legion Post 452 where military rites will be conducted.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will not be any visitation held as cremation has already taken place.
For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial considerations can be made to the Stanton American Legion Post 452 in Stanton.
