Milton D. Sanford, age 77, of rural Stanton, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. He was born September 28, 1935 in Lansing, the son of Lyle & Thelma (Laycock) Sanford.
Surviving is Betty Hodges, his children, Terry Sanford & Laurie Burkholder of Lansing, Leeann & John Kain of Coral, Duane & Lynne Hodges of Stanton, Charles Hodges Jr. & Sue Gilbert of Greenville, his grandchildren, Ryan Sanford, Adam & Cassie Sanford, Stacy Priest, Greg & Amanda Hodges, Derick & Sarah Hodges, Michael & Sandy Hodges, Michelle Hodges, Amanda & Matt Simmon, Judy & Ethan Leitch and Aaron Dickerson plus 8 great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Joyce Pennock of Stanton and special friends, Earl & Ruth Krum and Pete & Annie Ludwig.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Russell Sanford and a sister, Charm Holder.
Formerly of Greenville, Milton has lived in the Dickerson Lake area since 1996. He was retired from Electrolux and was a past member of both the Moose and Eagle Lodges.
Funeral services beginning at 11:00 A.M. will be held at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan on Friday, April 5, 2013 with Pastor Ryan White officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery, Sheridan.
Visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 10:00 A.M., one hour prior to the funeral service where the family will meet with friends and relatives.
For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial consideration can be made to the Hope House, 129 Jefferson SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 and there will be envelopes available at the funeral home.
