Mildred Jensen, age 89, of Stanton, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Green Acres in Greenville.
Mildred, or “Mid” as she was known by everyone, was a lady who was always on the go; usually quite fast. She had her Bachelors degree from Western Michigan University, was a Registered Nurse, and retired from the Mid-Michigan Health Department, where she managed 3 counties. When she wasn’t working, Mid was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was the Worthy Matron 28 times and a member of the Grand Family. She was the chair of the Masonic Ice Cream social in Stanton and always cooked for their Ox Roast dinners. Mid was also an extremely active member at the Stanton 1st Congregational Church where she attended for 53 years. During those years, Mid taught both Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, served on many committees and boards, and held lots of various positions in the church. Mid also loved being outdoors, tending to her garden, doing yard work, and was an immaculate house keeper; making sure everything was always in its proper place. Mid Jensen made her community a better place and we are all a little bit better off because of her; she will be dearly missed by everyone.
Surviving Mid are her children, Kathy Clements, Deb (Art) Wirtz, John (Nancy) Denslow, Sharon (Roy) Bowers-Kennedy, Gail Jensen-McIntyre, and Jerry (Paula Goodsell) Jensen; grandchildren, Grant Edgerly, Jessica Wirtz, Paxton Wirtz, Dillon Denslow, Hope Denslow, Mandy Bowers, Bryan Bowers, Hillary McKnight, Allyse Eason, Shelby McIntyre, Brad Jensen, and Renee Priest; several great grandchildren; sister, Wilma Baldwin; brother, Fay Sterling; and her nieces and nephews, Rick Baldwin, Rob Baldwin, Patty Rockafellow, Penny Avery, Ron Baldwin, Rose Anderson, Annette Pearson, and James Sterling. Mid is also survived by her church family, her Eastern Star family, and lots of friends.
Mid was preceded in death by her parents, Richard & Sadie (Nellis) Sterling; and husbands, Donald Denslow and Elton Jensen.
Mid’s life is being celebrated on Wednesday, February 16th at the Stanton 1st Congregational Church (305 N. Camburn St.). Visitation will be from 2 to 3 PM, with funeral services starting at 3 PM with Pastor Bob Braman officiating. Final interment will be at Chippewa Cemetery.
