Merlin D. O'Berry

Merlin O'Berry, age 76, of Fenwick, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville.

A long time resident of the Fenwick area, Merlin owned and operated Mert's Woodworking for many years. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, serving in Italy during the Vietnam area. Merlin was also a longtime member of the Evergreen Free Methodist Church.

Surviving Merlin are his daughters, Shelley (Mike) Wheeler of Sheridan, Angela (Scott) Davis of Ionia, and Marcy (Mac) McDaniel of Middleton; grandchildren, Branden (Ashley) Wheeler of Petoskey, Bethany Wheeler (Michael Holcomb) of Davidson, and Cody Davis of Clarksville; great grandchildren, Wren Wheeler and Brycen Davis; sisters, Eleanor Lane of Sheridan; sisters-in-law, Carleen Tank of Battle Creek and Colleen Greenhoe of Bellevue; and his special companion, Marlene Cloud of Sheridan.

Merlin was preceded in death by his wife, Janice O'Berry; sisters, Lois Young and Donna Roberts; his parents, Earl & Marguerite (Maus) O'Berry; and four brothers-in-law.

Visitation for Merlin is being held on Wednesday, February 1st from 4 to 7 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.).

Funeral services for Merlin will be held on Thursday, February 2nd, beginning at 11 AM at the Evergreen Free Methodist Church (2825 Condensery Rd., Sheridan) with Pastor Jim Vandewarker officiating.

Final interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Merlin's memory the family suggests you direct them to the Evergreen Free Methodist Church.
