Merle Knaggs

Merle Knaggs, age 89, formerly of Sheridan passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the home of his son in Stockbridge, Michigan. He was born on March 19, 1924 in Ionia County, the son of Willard A. & Edith (Reed) Knaggs. Both parents have passed away.
On November 1, 1952, Merle was married to the former Barbara Jean Johnson and she preceded him in death on November 22, 2003.
Surviving Merle is one son and daughter in law, Gary & Mary Knaggs of Stockbridge, where Merle has made his home since 2008.
Formerly a longtime resident of the Sheridan area, Merle was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Stanton and was retired from Bolthouse Farms where he worked as a mechanic for many years; he had the ability to fix almost anything.
Funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM will be held at the First Baptist Church in Stanton on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 with Pastor Ryan White and Pastor David Oberst officiating. Interment will be at the Maple Ridge Cemetery in Vickeryville.
Visitation will be at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM where the family will meet with friends and relatives.
For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial considerations can be made to the First Baptist Church in Stanton. There will be envelopes available at the funeral home.
