Max Guy Bliss

Max G. Bliss, age 92, of Sheridan, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

Max proudly served his country as a member of the US Army in the Korean War. He worked at the Sheridan Carnation Plant for 24 years, Gibson's in Greenville for 12 years, and farmed for 18 years. Max enjoyed taking his family camping, going hunting, and loved living on Holland Lake. Max was a life member of the Sheridan VFW and also attended the Fenwick United Methodist Church for 20 years.

Surviving Max is his wife of 71 years, Janet; daughter, Joanne Bliss of Sheridan; son, Phil (Karron) Bliss of Fenwick; grandchildren, Stephanie (Hector) Schmidt of Florida, Justin Higbee of Fenwick, Josh (Donna) Bliss of Portland, Nate (Marcy) Bliss of Stanton, Dirk (Josie) Bliss of Fenwick; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Bliss of Grand Ledge; and many nieces and nephews.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, Guy & Delilah (Ehle) Bliss; sisters, Frances Higley and Beth Coger; and brothers, Eldon Bliss and Dale Bliss.

Max's life is being celebrated on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.). Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 Noon with the funeral ceremony starting at 12 Noon. Final interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
