Matthew Wallace

Matthew K. Wallace, age 48 of Fenwick, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, September 29, 2018.

Matt was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed watching games with his dad. He loved his kids and grandkids and was also very close to his nieces and nephews as he grew up with many of them. Matt also liked cooking, especially grilling out. His family will miss the long phone, text and messenger conversations they would have with him. Matt was a 1988 graduate of Central Montcalm High School and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Surviving Matt is his daughter, Bethany (Chris) Ehlert of Coral; sons, Matt (Beth) Reeves of Ionia and Chace (Jessica) Reeves of Ionia; grandchildren, Neva, Faye, Bane, Anson and a soon to be born granddaughter. Matt was also survived by his wife, Penny Brigham-Wallace, who passed away unexpectedly the day after Matt. Also surviving Matt are his sisters, Earline (Jim) Ebels of Morley; Dawn (Bob) Wesley of Sheridan; Robin (Curt) McCoy of Lakeview and nieces and nephews, Andrew Sinclair of Zephyrhills Hills, Florida; Jason Sinclair of St. Johns; Adam Earnshaw of Homosassa, Florida; Jarred Earnshaw of St. Johns; Corey Ledin-Bristol of Greenville; Walt Ledin of Sheridan; Kellen Ledin of Greenville; Alycia Doolittle of Stanton; Liz Lane of Blanchard and Meridith McCoy of Lakeview; mother-in-law, Connie Carr and his step children Jessica Croley of Belding and Douglas Brigham of Indiana.

Matt was preceded in death by his parents, Don & Joyce (Ehle) Wallace and his brother, Donnie Wallace.
A celebration of life is being held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 3-5 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan. A time of sharing will be at 4 PM. Matt will be laid to rest next to his mom, dad and brother at Evergreen Cemetery.
