Mary J. Schnicke, age 84, formerly of Edmore, passed away at Metron of Cedar Springs on Monday, November 18, 2019.
Mary was born on May 25, 1935 in Martin, MI. After graduating Valedictorian from Martin High School, Mary went into nursing. She received her training at Butterworth Hospital and became a Registered Nurse. On February 19, 1982 she married Richard Schnicke, and together enjoyed over 30 years of marriage until his passing in 2012. Together, Richard and Mary ran Mary’s Estate Sales and Auction Service. They were also active in the flea market business. Mary loved to read, do word searches, she loved her flower garden and tending to them, but her favorite was completing jigsaw puzzles.
Mary had been a resident of Edmore since 1994 until her health forced her to move out of town, she was a member of New Life Church in Lakeview and enjoyed being with her family very much.
Surviving Mary are her sons, Richard (Elizabeth) Dunton of Cedar Springs; Randall Dunton of Casnovia; sister, Catherine (David) Smith of Kalamazoo; brothers, Eddie (Rita) Oetman of Martin; William Oetman of Plainwell; one grandchild, two great grandchildren and many other extended family and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; Richard and Ruth (Edwards) Oetman, her husband, Richard; sisters, Joan Horton and Aileen Rose.
Mary’s family will be celebrating her life at 12:30 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Golden Corral Buffet & Grill (3461 Alpine Ave., NW, Walker, MI 49544).
