Mary Jane Petersen

Mary Jane Petersen, age 73, of Sidney, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Margaret's Meadows Assisted Living and Memory Care in Remus.

Mary Jane absolutely loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them. She was a talented seamstress who could fix or mend just about anything. Mary Jane also loved to cook and bake, her Christmas cookies and candy were always a hit. She also liked reading, playing cards, especially Tripoley, and tending to her flower garden. She was always eager to stop at yard sales and flea markets in search of a great deal and she loved collecting all things Pepsi. Mary Jane retired from Electrolux after 37 years, then enjoyed working at Walmart for several years. Mary Jane will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Surviving Mary Jane is her husband, Darwin "Snapper" Petersen; sons, Paul Petersen and Patrick (Holly) Petersen; grandsons, Tyler (Amara) Petersen and Adam Petersen; granddaughters, Megan (Tyler) Williams and Randi Crawford; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Edward Jr. (Michelle) Ehle and Mike (Ruth) Ehle; sister, Sharon (Gary) Barnaby; several aunts and uncles; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Donna (Webb) Ehle; granddaughter, Ashley Petersen; sister, Linda Myer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Irving & Myrtie Petersen; and several aunts, uncles, and nephews.

Mary Jane's life is being celebrated on Thursday, December 15th at the Faith Lutheran Church in Sidney (2957 S. Grow Rd.) Visitation will be from 11 AM to Noon with a luncheon starting at 12 Noon.
