Mary Ellen Lingeman, age 72, of Stanton, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, surrounded in love by her family.
Mary Ellen did many things throughout her life and enjoyed a variety of activities. She loved bowling in her women's league, working at Montcalm Community College, going to breakfast each month with the other retired MCC staff, reading, and traveling with her siblings. However, the thing Mary Ellen loved most in this world was being a grandma. She loved taking them to and from school, being with them on their days off, and cheering them on at all their school activities and sporting events. Mary Ellen could always be found in the stands, cheering them on and supporting them; she was their biggest cheerleader and fan. Her presence in their lives and at their events will be deeply missed but her spirit will continue to be with them forever.
Surviving Mary Ellen are her sons, Ed (Casey) Lingeman of Sheridan and Jim (Cerissa) Lingeman of Sheridan; grandchildren, Logan (Isabel) Lingeman of Crystal, Lane Lingeman of Sheridan, Waylon Lingeman of Sheridan, Emmett Lingeman of Sheridan, Francine Lingeman of Sheridan, Sullivan Ryan of Sheridan, Lincoln Ryan of Sheridan, and Briggs Ryan of Sheridan; great grandson, Noah Lingeman; sister, Patricia (Paul) Quigley of Marietta, Georgia; brothers, Paul (Gloria) Welles of Milford and Brain (Dawn) Welles of Clinton Township; lifelong friends, Sally Morais of Sheridan and Tammy Headworth of Belding; and the father of her sons, Mike (Lora) Lingeman of Stanton; mother-in-law, Fran Lingeman; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Adelbert & Ann (Dolan) Welles and her brother, Clifford Welles.
A celebration of Mary Ellen's life is being held on Wednesday, October 5th from 3 to 6 PM at the Sheridan Community Center (205 St. Clair St.). A time for family and friends to share memories will be at 3 PM.
