Obituary for Marvin Jensen Jr.

Marvin Jensen Jr., age 84 of McBride, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Sheridan Community Hospital.

Marv was a man who knew not only the meaning of hard work but understood the importance of balancing that by having a good time. When Marv was younger, he worked at the McBride Tavern which his family owned and operated for many years. Marv also worked for Kieff’s Roofing, a job which he enjoyed very much. When he wasn’t working, Marv enjoyed bowling and he absolutely loved to go ice fishing. He was also a big sports fan and could always be found cheering for any Michigan based team, especially the Detroit Tigers.

Surviving Marv is his wife of 52 years, Allene “Pete” (Howe) Jensen; daughter, Dana Briggs of Mt. Pleasant; sons, David (Renay) Jensen of McBride; Allen (Susan) Jensen of Lansing; grandchildren, Nathan (Missy) Jensen; Nicholas Jensen; Sarah (John) Vatter, Jacob Jensen; Alexandria Jensen; Kathleen Jensen; Kolin Briggs; Trent Briggs; great grandchildren, Matthew Jensen; Bobby Vatter; Kali Greenhoe; many nieces, nephews and lots of great friends.

Preceding Marv in death are his parents, Marvin Sr. & Thelma (McQueen) Jensen; two brothers, Dean Jensen and Darwin Jensen and life long friends, Sonny & Carolyn Raymond.
