Marvin N. “Marv” Everingham, age 70, of Mecosta passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at his home. He was born on January 2, 1944, the son of Raymond & Leora (Morgan) Everingham.
On October 23, 1982, Marv was married to the former Tarry J. Stearns and she survives in addition to 2 daughters, Laurie & Greg Coville of Sheridan, Keristin Everingham of Sheridan, 4 sons, Kevin & Karla Everingham of Sheridan, Adam Everingham of Fenwick, Troy & Julie Jensen of Winterville, NC, Patrick & Hilary Jensen of Wake Forest, NC, 11 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Neva & Jerry Springsteen of Fenwick, Ruth Hodge of Mason, 2 sisters-in-law, Shirley Stevenson of Sheridan, Clara Everingham of Vickeryville, 1 brother-in-law, Roy & Andrea Stearns of Gowen, his favorite mother-in-law and pedro partner, Phyllis Stearns of Sheridan, special friends, Herb & Barb Gulembo, Jan & Dean Scholten, Kim & Carl Taylor, Warren Webber and special children of his heart, Maria Carvalho of Brazil, Sabine Geschwenter of Austria, Chaz & Amanda Nofsinger, William Nobach, Stephany Kelly and Daniel Gotwalt.
Marv was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Inez & Chuck Bowers and Edith & Joe Prentler, a brother, Eugene Everingham, his father-in-law, Donald Stearns and a brother-in-law, Richard Stearns.
Marv has only been a resident of Mecosta since May this year; he was formerly a longtime resident of the Sheridan & Sidney areas where he was a member of the Greenville Community Church and the NRA. He loved hunting, fishing and his beagles, but most of all, spending time with his family, who will all miss him very much.
Funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Greenville Community Church in Greenville with Pastor Joel Heron officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday, June 30th at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan from 6:00 until 8:00 PM where the family will meet with friends and relatives.
For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial considerations can be made to either the GCC Food Pantry or to the People Restore Ministry. There will be envelopes available at the funeral home and the church.
