Marjorie E. Moeggenberg, age 102, of St. Johns, formerly of Stanton and Gaylord, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Hazel Findlay Country Manor in St. Johns.
She was born on November 13, 1916 in Carson City, the daughter of Lee & Ruth (Huyck) Sloan. They along with her husband of 56 years, Lawrence “Dick” Moeggenberg preceded her in death.
Surviving Marjorie are her daughters, Ruth Ann (David) Bailey of Branson, Missouri and Kathy (Bill) Shinn of Atlanta, Michigan; sons, Larry (Nancy) Moeggenberg of St. Johns; Bill (Nancy) Moeggenberg of Rouge River, Oregon; Ralph (Sue) Moeggenberg of St. Johns; Warren (Mary) Moeggenberg of Maple Rapids; Mike (Lynn) Moeggenberg of Gaylord; Pat (Cindy) Moeggenberg of Crystal; Joe Moeggenberg of Gaylord; 20 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Lois Moeggenberg of Sheridan.
Marjorie was a wonderful and loving mother, a terrific and awesome grandma and an overall great person. She loved spending time with her family and having them around her. Marjorie also enjoyed reading and working on puzzles. She was a member of the St. Bernadette’s of Lourdes church in Stanton.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 7-8:30 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar Street).
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at St. Bernadette’s of Lourdes in Stanton with Father Dominic Tirkey as celebrant. Final interment will be in McBride Cemetery.
