LuDean Marie Wonch

LuDean M. Wonch, age 92, of Crystal, passed away at her home on Sunday, February 12, 2023, under the loving care of her family.

LuDean was a very social person who loved to spend time with her family and friends.  It was very common for her to have people over every day to play cards or dominos.  When she was younger, LuDean loved to go hunting and fishing, camping with her family in the U.P., and crocheting and knitting things.  LuDean was also a talented baker, who loved baking and decorating cakes.  She also liked the challenge of a good crossword puzzle.  She and her husband, Lee, enjoyed wintering in Florida and made many great friends there.

Surviving LuDean is her husband of 64 years, Lee; daughters, Karen Edwards of Fenwick, Deanna (Michael) Edwards of Sheridan, Tamra Wrisley (Gordy Snyder) of Sumner; son, Gaius (Barbara) Lepley of Ionia; 14 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren, sisters, Berdett Wadle of Harrison, Clara Deitsch of West Bend, Wisconsin, Sharon McVay of Crystal, Judy Bowen of Crystal; sisters-in-law, Rose (Gene) Ehle of Stanton, Shirley Wonch of Saranac, Judy Wonch of Crystal; many nieces and nephews, and life long friends, Doug & Joyce Whaley of Sumner and Lynne Pollock of Gowen.

LuDean was preceded in death by her son, Gary Lepley; grandson, Jeremy Wonch; granddaughter, Misty Edwards; great-great grandson, Theo Graves; sons-in-law, Dennis Edwards and Ray Wrisley; and her parents, Merl & Ada Belle (Newell) Whetstone.

LuDean’s life is being celebrated on Thursday, February 16th at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.).  Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM with her funeral ceremony starting at 11 AM.  Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday at Evergreen Township Cemetery.
