Lucille Gibson, age 89, of Stanton, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Rosewood Assisted Living in Ithaca.
Lucille was a wonderful mom, grandma, great grandma, who absolutely loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them. Her skills in the kitchen were amazing; the food she cooked was delicious and the things she baked were scrumptious. Lucille was also a talented seamstress. She was a member of the Gleaners Entrician Arbor 184 and the Montcalm County Fair Association. For many years she attended Trinity Church in Stanton. Lucille also enjoyed hunting, fishing, roller skating, going on family vacations, snowmobiling and she never missed an event for her grandkids or great grandsons.
Lucille's family would also like to extend a big thank you to the entire staff at Rosewood Assisted Living for the wonderful, loving, and compassionate care they provided to her.
Surviving Lucille is her daughter, Marlene Gibson of Stanton; son, Terry (Cheryl) Gibson of Stanton; grandchildren, Brandon (Melissa) Gibson of Stanton and Breann (Jason) Bonga of Stanton; great grandchildren, Brayden, Bryce, Blake, Brock, and Brody; sister, Maxine (Ray) Harris of Stanton; brother, Carl (Sally) Chapin of Stanton; and many nieces and nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Gibson; parents, Darwin & Zelma (Switzer) Chapin; brothers, Harold Chapin and Eugene Chapin; and nephew, Lonnie Bigelow.
Lucille's life is being celebrated on Thursday, January 26th at Pine Grove Church (480 Pine Grove Road, Stanton). Visitation will be from 4 to 5 PM with a memorial service beginning at 5 PM.
